The
Singleton Environment Centre is an exciting new development in Ashford which
opened to the public in 2008, providing a full and imaginative programme of
activities catering for people of all ages from both the local community and
visitors to Ashford. It is run by BTCV in partnership with Ashford Borough
Council.
Rooms in the centre are available for hire to businesses, community
groups, voluntary and charity groups, and individuals and activities include
environmental, conservation and educational activities, fitness classes, arts
and entertainment and community events. The project will serve as a local
attraction and environmental education resource for local primary schools and a
growing number of environmental groups and projects in the borough.
The Singleton Environment Centre has been built adjoining the Ashford
Community Woodland, a green space designed and managed by the local community.
It has its own café and bistro called Footprints, which serves local and
seasonal produce and can cater for any event held at the centre, from meetings
and conferences to other functions.
Open: You
can visit the centre 7 days a week from 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday and from
11am-3pm on Sundays
