There is an action-packed calendar of events taking place in the Ashford and Tenterden area with something to suit all tastes.

Whether it's a Thomas the Tank Engine Weekend at the Kent & East Sussex Railway, a Shakespearean play at Smallhythe Place, a Teddy Bear's Picnic at Willesborough Windmill or a talk by Viv Hunt, the gardener at Godinton House and Gardens, there is always plenty to choose from.

In addition there are many special events and festivals during the year. The Equator Series, now in its second year, offers a rich and diverse programme of world music, dance and theatre. Performances run from March to the end of June. July sees the welcome return of the Egerton Music Festival with something for everyone. The programme includes musical recitals, opera, jazz and much more.

Godinton House & Gardens plays host to the Chapterhouse Theatre Company, with an outside performance of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table in July whilst the ever popular Ashford Summer Sounds programme will once again run throughout July.

The first weekend in October is the 16th annual Tenterden Folk Festival and the second Cranbrook and Tenterden Food and Drink Festival will take place from October 30th to November 2nd.
